The Del Carmen Ultra Blue Black slate is a traditional, true geological blue-black riven slate with a distinctive texture, noted for its longitudinal grain.
The Del Carmen quarry is one of the largest in Spain, situated in the Cabrera mountains, an area featuring geomorphic conditions favourable to the formation of uninterrupted seams of high quality slate.
The SSQ Del Carmen Ultra slate has been tested to international standards, including Marque Nationale Norme Française. This norm is widely known as the highest classification worldwide and the testing is carried out at the quarry on a yearly basis by the Laboratoire National d’ Essais. It has also been tested according to the BS EN 12326 achieving outstanding results.
